I know its late (and kinda long) but here’s my list of the top 10 martial artist in the movie business. I’m a huge fan of the genre so i thought the list was appropriate. oh and I’m taggin my boy iamtdiamond in this one. from top to bottom:

10. Michael Jai White

  • He is an accomplished martial artist, holding black belts in seven different styles: Shotokan, Tae Kwon Do, Kobudo, Goju Ryu, Tang Soo Do, Wushu and Kyokushin, with a specific focus in Kyokushin (although his style incorporates aspects of many different martial arts forms). White started training in the martial arts at the age of eight.
  • favorite film - Blood and Bone

9. Jason Statham

  •  He has studied Wing Chun kung fu, karate, and kickboxing
  • Favorite film - the Mechanic

8. Scott Adkins

  • He holds Black belts in Wushu, Tae Kwon Do, Kickboxing, Judo and Jujitsu

7. Sonny Chiba

  • Chiba holds black belts in the following martial arts:

  4. Shorinji Kempo: 2nd Dan
  5. Judo: 2nd Dan
  6. Kendo: 1st Dan
  • Favorite film - Return of The Street Fighter

6. Michelle Yeoh

  • I couldn’t find any solid info on her martial arts training. I’m told she does what is known as Movie-jitsu, she simply adjust her style to the movie that she is in. but I do know that she started out as a dancer, which explains the beauty behind every thing she does.
  • favorite film - Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

5. Jackie Chan

  • Whats surprising is that Jackie Chan’s core martial arts style is Hapkido (a Korean Martial Arts) and gymnastics. he only learned Kung-Fu during his time as a student at the Peking opera school (a performing arts school) and he also studied Tai Kwon Do. lets not forget the infamous drunken fist style.
  • favorite film - The Legend of Drunken Master and Rumble in the Bronx

4. Donnie Yen

  •  Yen is widely credited for bringing mixed martial arts (MMA) into the mainstream of Chinese culture, by choreographing MMA in many of his recent films. Yen has displayed notable skills in a wide variety of martial arts, being well-versed in boxing, kickboxing, taekwondo, Muay Thai, wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Wing Chun, and Wushu
  • favorite film - Ip Man 1 and 2

3. Jet Li

  • Li is a master of several styles of wushu, especially Changquan (Northern Longfist Style) and Fanziquan (Tumbling fist). He has also studied other arts including Baguazhang (Eight trigram palm), Taijiquan (Supreme ultimate fist), Xingyiquan (Shape intent fist), Zuiquan (Drunken fist), Yingzhaoquan (Eagle claw fist) and Tanglangquan (Praying mantis fist). He did not learn Nanquan (Southern fist), because his training focused only in the Northern Shaolin Styles. He has also studied some of wushu’s main weapons, such Sanjiegun (Three section staff), Gun (staff), Dao (Broadsword), Jian (Straight sword) and many more.

He was a successful high jump athlete at university. He is still able to jump two meters high

  • Favorite Film - The Protector

1. Bruce Lee (like you didn’t know)

  • He initially trained in Wing Chun and Boxing, but later rejected well-defined martial art styles, favouring instead the use of techniques from various sources, in the spirit of his personal martial arts philosophy, which he dubbed Jeet Kune Do (The Way of the Intercepting Fist). Lee began teaching martial arts in the United States in 1959. He called what he taught Jun Fan Gung Fu (literally Bruce Lee’s Kung Fu). It was basically his approach to Wing Chun
